PVC Laminated Sheet | Waterproof, Durable, Easy to Clean

Field Notes on PVC Laminated Sheet: specs, uses, and what buyers actually ask

I’ve toured more than a few sheet lines this year, and—surprisingly—the humble PVC Laminated Sheet keeps showing up in places where metal or FRP used to rule. Part of that is the current “design-for-maintenance” trend: fewer corrosion headaches, quicker fabrication, decent fire behavior. Also, supply chains want predictable lead times. From a plant in Hebei to a jobsite in Rotterdam, the same questions pop up: tolerance, gloss consistency, and whether it’ll pass the lab tests without drama.

Product snapshot

Made in No.316 Pingan West Street, Shunping County, Baoding City, Hebei, China 072250, the PVC Laminated Sheet comes off the line with a glossy surface, in gray or white, and a wide size envelope that fabricators actually like.

How it’s made (short version)

  • Materials: PVC resin (K-value tuned), plasticizers (if semi-rigid), CaCO3 filler (controlled), stabilizers, pigments.
  • Methods: Compounding → calendaring/extrusion → lamination stack → inline gauging → cooling → trimming → aging.
  • Testing: ISO 527 tensile, ISO 178 flexural, ISO 62 water absorption, ISO 306 Vicat, UL 94 flame; RoHS/REACH screening.
  • Service life: around 8–15 years indoors; outdoors 3–10 years depending on UV package and temperature cycles.

Where it’s used

Chemical wash stations, pickling tanks (liners), HVAC plenum panels, cleanroom wall cladding, electrical enclosures, signage, marine lockers. Many customers say the PVC Laminated Sheet machines cleanly with carbide bits and doesn’t warp after CNC pocketing—which, to be honest, is what you want on a Friday afternoon install.

Pros, and a few caveats

  • Corrosion/chemical splash resistance; low water uptake (ISO 62 ≈ 0.1%).
  • Self-extinguishing behavior; potential UL 94 V-0 grade.
  • Thermoformable and bondable; consistent gloss for visible panels.
  • Caveat: Continuous temps above ~60 °C call for engineering review; UV needs stabilization if fully outdoors.

Vendor snapshot (quick comparison)

Vendor Origin Lead time Certs Customization MOQ
LIDA Plastic Hebei, China ≈7–15 days ISO 9001, RoHS/REACH Color, cut-to-size, gloss around 500 kg
Vendor A EU 10–20 days ISO 9001/14001 Color, emboss ≈300–600 kg
Vendor B SEA 14–28 days UL 94 variants Cut-to-size ≈800 kg

Real-world cases

  • Chemical plant liner: 12 mm PVC Laminated Sheet lining; after 18 months, no blistering; weekly HCl splash, visual pass; ISO 62 water-gain
  • Hospital corridor cladding: 3 mm glossy white; impact scuffs buffed out; fire test matched UL 94 V-0 panel grade.
  • HVAC plenum retrofits: 6 mm gray; installers liked lighter weight vs galvanized; sound dampening modest but noticeable.

Buying tips

Ask for batch CoA (ISO 527, ISO 306), a UL 94 statement if you need it, and sample a small lot to confirm gloss match under your site lighting. Also, specify edge finishing if panels are exposed—customers say a micro-chamfer makes the PVC Laminated Sheet look “finished” out of the crate.
